The Role

We're looking for friendly, enthusiastic Gift Shop Assistants to join our London team and help bring the world of Wake The Tiger to life beyond the park experience. You'll create a memorable and welcoming retail experience for our guests, helping them discover and choose products that capture the imagination and extend their Wake The Tiger adventure.

You'll combine excellent customer service with confident selling, product knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for our unique range of sustainably focused merchandise. Alongside the wider Front of House team, you will be responsible for engaging with the audience and enhancing their experience beyond their time at the park. Our guests will be transported into a unique world and every interaction should be fun, engaging and memorable.

You'll be part of a fast-paced team, keeping the shop beautifully presented, well stocked and ready for visitors, while ensuring every guest feels welcomed, supported and inspired.

You Will be Responsible For

  • Deliver an exceptional, friendly and engaging retail experience to every visitor.
  • Actively engage and approach customers in the shop with a positive attitude.
  • Keep merchandise displays clean, attractive and fully stocked, following merchandising guidelines.
  • Operate the till/EPOS system accurately, including processing card payments.
  • Support stock deliveries, replenishment, stock rotation and maintaining accurate stock levels.
  • Develop strong knowledge of our products and confidently make recommendations based on guests' interests.
  • Provide a welcoming and inclusive experience for all visitors, offering support to guests with additional access needs where required.
  • Ability to manage queues and remain vigilant reporting any safety concerns or suspicious behaviour promptly.
  • Proactively engage with guests, identify opportunities to support sales and help visitors find the perfect gift or souvenir.
  • Handle customer queries, returns and concerns with care, escalating issues to the Manager where appropriate.
  • Support opening and closing procedures, including preparing the shop for trade and securing the retail area.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the attraction, supporting one another to deliver an exceptional visitor experience.
  • Identify and proactively resolve minor operational issues where appropriate, escalating to the Manager on shift as required.
  • Show a willingness to learn new skills adapting to the evolving needs of the attractions, including some Front of House work when needed.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider Front of House team to create a seamless visitor experience.
  • Develop a strong knowledge of the attraction to be able to confidently answer visitor questions and encourage exploration and engagement.
  • Champion Wake The Tiger's values by delivering exceptional guest experiences and helping create a welcoming, inclusive and inspiring environment for visitors and colleagues alike.

  • Experience in retail
  • Knowledge of POS and inventory systems
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience working in a fast-paced customer focused environmentAbility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays

Desirable

  • First aid trained
  • Fire Marshal training
  • Interest in sustainability and narrative merchandise
  • Experience of working as a Front of House/Stewarding/Gift Shop team member in a fast-paced visitor attraction, hospitality or tourism & leisure environment
