As a Partner on our service counters, you will demonstrate your knowledge and passion for food while proudly representing Waitrose’s ethically sourced products. You will recommend recipes, build lasting customer relationships, and support the overall brand experience, contributing to sales and profit.
Duties of the role will include:
- Handling raw meat, cutting, trimming and preparing special cuts for display.
- Handling raw fish, including chopping, gutting, descaling and cleaning.
- Providing training in food safety and hygiene.
- Maintaining high presentation and hygiene standards at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take responsibility for your own food counter, ensuring highest presentation and hygiene standards at all times.
- Stay on top of stock levels, ensuring products are available when needed.
- Handle open food with due diligence and follow health & safety protocols, helping to reduce food wastage.
- Maintain knowledge of new products and Waitrose's food values, such as animal welfare.
- Support the wider shop team with general shop‑keeping tasks when required.
Essential Skills / Experience You'll Need:
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with team members and customers.
Desirable Skills / Experience You May Have:
- Experience in a customer‑facing role.
- Experience in a catering or hospitality environment.
