About The Role
As a Supermarket Assistant, you\'ll help our difference be felt by our customers on every visit, providing partner‑led service and passion for food that our competitors can’t match. Your drive to go the extra mile will make all the difference to the impression our customers have about the Waitrose brand and keep them returning again and again, earning their trust and loyalty for a lifetime.
Key Responsibilities
- Stock replenishment – ensuring our shelves remain full and products are correctly placed.
- Fulfilling online customer orders for delivery to customers’ doors.
- Reducing wastage by following product due diligence and marking down items near sell‑by dates.
- Supporting the wider shop team, including checkout support, Click & Collect order management, and on‑demand customer orders.
- Maintaining a safe and tidy working environment with general shop‑keeping tasks.
Essential skills / experience you\'ll need
- Communication skills to enable effective teamwork and interaction with customers.
Desirable skills / experience you may have
- Experience in a customer‑facing role.
- Up‑to‑date knowledge and strong interest in food and drink trends.
- Flexible approach to support the whole branch.
