About the role
As a Partner on our service counters, you\’ll have the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge and passion for food while feeling proud of how it is ethically sourced. You\’ll recommend recipes to customers and actively bring our ethos – passionate Partners serving food lovers – to life.
Using your enthusiasm and friendliness, you\’ll build lasting relationships with customers, enhancing their impression of the Waitrose brand and fostering loyalty. Your efforts will help maximize sales and profit.
Key Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for your food counter, ensuring high presentation and hygiene standards.
- Manage stock levels to ensure popular products are available.
- Work carefully with open food, following all health & safety protocols to reduce wastage.
- Maintain knowledge of new products and understand Waitrose\’s food values, such as animal welfare.
- Support the wider shop team with general shopkeeping tasks when needed.
Essential skills/experience you\’ll need
- Effective communication skills for teamwork and customer interaction.
Desirable skills/experience
- Experience in a customer-facing role.
- Experience in catering or hospitality.
- Interest in current food and drink trends.
- Flexible approach to support the branch.
Work rotation includes Sundays 08:00-17:00, Mondays 14:00-19:00, and Saturdays 07:00-16:00.
