Overview

As a Partner on our service counters, you\’ll have the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge and passion for food while contributing to an ethically sourced offering. You’ll bring Waitrose & Partners’ ethos to life by sharing enthusiasm and friendliness with customers, building lasting relationships, earning trust and loyalty, and helping maximise sales and profit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for your own food counter, ensuring the highest presentation and hygiene standards at all times.
  • Monitor stock levels, ensuring products customers love are available when needed.
  • Handle open food with due diligence and follow health & safety protocols; contribute to reducing food wastage.
  • Maintain knowledge of new products and understand Waitrose’s food values (e.g. animal welfare).
  • Support the wider shop team with general shopkeeping tasks.

Essential skills/experience

  • Communication skills to work effectively as part of a team and with customers.

Desirable skills/experience

  • Experience in a customer-facing role.
  • Experience in a catering / hospitality environment.
  • Up-to-date knowledge and strong interest in food and drink trends.
  • Flexible approach to support the whole branch.
