Base pay range: About The Role

As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you’ll bring the unique blend of quality Waitrose produce and partner‑led service right to customers’ doors. When you’re not out on the road, you’ll be back at the shop supporting the team with tasks like stock replenishment and housekeeping, contributing to the efficient and productive running of the shop.

Requirements: Must be 18 years or older.

Key Responsibilities

  • Check your delivery routes for the day.
  • Load and prepare your van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are together and can be efficiently delivered directly to customers.
  • Perform all appropriate vehicle safety checks and maintain full road compliance, health and safety.
  • Represent the Waitrose brand on the road with excellent customer service as your number one priority.
  • Help customers with their shopping and build a rapport with them based on trust and service.
  • Support the wider shop team with general shop‑keeping tasks when required.

Essential skills / experience

  • Full valid B‑Category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
  • Great customer service skills.
  • Time‑management skills.
  • Ability to lift crates, move cages and cope with the physical requirements of the role.
  • Comfortable working independently, self‑motivated and adaptable.
  • IT literate.

Desirable skills / experience

  • Previous experience in a driving role and knowledge of chilled vehicles.
