About the Role
As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you’ll bring the unique blend of quality Waitrose produce and partner‑led service right to our customers’ doors. Actively playing out our ethos – passionate Partners serving food lovers. When you’re not out on the road, you’ll be back at the shop supporting the team with daily tasks such as stock replenishment and housekeeping, contributing to the efficient and productive running of the shop in a friendly and welcoming environment. You must be 18 years or older.
Key Responsibilities
- Check your delivery routes for the day.
- Load and prepare the van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are together and can be delivered efficiently.
- Complete all appropriate vehicle safety checks, maintaining full road compliance, health, and safety.
- Act as an ambassador for the Waitrose brand while on the road, prioritising great customer service.
- Help customers with their shopping and build a rapport based on trust and service.
- Support the wider shop team when required with general shopkeeping tasks.
Essential Skills / Experience
- Full valid B‑Category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
- Great customer service skills.
- Time management skills.
- Ability to cope with the physical requirements of the role (e.g., lifting crates, moving cages).
- Comfortable working independently, self‑motivated, and adaptable.
- IT literate.
Desirable Skills / Experience
- Previous experience in a driving role and knowledge of chilled vehicles.
