About the role

As a Vehicle Technician in one of our workshops, you'll primarily repair and maintain our fleet of delivery vehicles, ensuring they meet VOSA and Partnership standards. You'll work with experienced technicians who provide the tools and support needed to excel and develop your knowledge.

At a glance:

  • Salary: Up to £55,000, depending on skills and experience, with readily available overtime.
  • Working Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week on a 2-week rota, plus day shift 1 in 2 Saturdays at premium overtime rate.
  • Contract type: Permanent.
  • Location: Central Transport, Bracknell Workshop.

Week 1: Monday to Friday – 06:00‑14:00
Week 2: Monday to Friday – 14:00‑22:00

Responsibilities include carrying out scheduled repairs and maintenance for the on-site e-commerce light-commercial fleet and repair/maintenance of outlying commercial and light commercial vehicles for John Lewis and Waitrose branches and CDHs. You will apply best practices and current commercial vehicle repair techniques, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective repairs and efficient use of spare parts and consumables.

Essential Experience / Qualifications required:

  • City and Guilds Level 1, 2 and 3 Vehicle Technician or equivalent qualifications.
  • Full UK Manual Driving Licence.
  • Proven background in transport commercial vehicle repairs.
  • Knowledge of commercial vehicle legislation and roadworthiness.

Desirable Skills:

  • MOT Testing Qualification Class 4 & 7.
  • IRTEC.
  • LGV C+E Driving Licence.
  • EV experience.
