About the role

As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you\’ll bring the unique blend of quality Waitrose produce and Partner-led service directly to our customers\’ doors. You will actively embody our ethos – passionate Partners serving food lovers. When not on the road, you\’ll support the shop team with daily tasks such as stock replenishment and housekeeping, contributing to the efficient and welcoming running of the shop.

Due to the nature of the role, you must be 18 years or older.

Key Responsibilities

  • Start your day in store, preparing for deliveries.
  • Load and prepare your van, ensuring all orders are organized for efficient delivery.
  • Complete vehicle safety checks, maintaining road compliance and health and safety standards.
  • Represent the Waitrose brand on the road with excellent customer service.
  • Assist customers with shopping and build rapport based on trust and service.
  • Support the shop team with general shopkeeping tasks when required.

Essential skills/experience

  • Full valid B-Category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting crates and moving cages.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work independently.
  • IT literate.

Desirable skills/experience

  • Previous driving experience, especially with chilled vehicles.
