About the role: As a Partner on our service counters, you'll have the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge and passion for food while feeling proud of how it is ethically sourced and recommend recipes for customers to try. You'll bring our ethos—passionate Partners serving food lovers—to life, using your enthusiasm and friendliness to build lasting relationships with customers and make a lasting impression on the Waitrose brand. You’ll help maximise sales and profit while earning customer trust and loyalty for a lifetime.
Night Premium: any time worked between 22:00 – 06:00 attracts an additional £3.75 per hour. This also applies to existing Partners enrolled in Enhanced Hours Premium arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:- Take responsibility for your own food counter, ensuring the highest presentation and hygiene standards at all times.
- Stay on top of stock levels, ensuring products are available when customers need them.
- Handle open food carefully, following all due diligence and health & safety protocols to reduce wastage.
- Maintain knowledge of new products and understand Waitrose’s food values (e.g., animal welfare).
- Support the wider shop team with general shopkeeping tasks as required.
- Communication skills to work effectively as part of a team and with customers.
- Experience in a customer-facing role.
- Experience in a catering or hospitality environment.
- Up-to-date knowledge and strong interest in food and drink trends.
- Flexible approach to support the whole branch.
Pay: £15.07 hourly (night premium £3.75 per hour). Hours: varied hours full and part-time across seven days, including early starts, late finishes, evenings and weekends. Contract type: Permanent.
