Waites Recruitment Consultancy are seeking a site manager based in Manchester on a full time basis.
Job Purpose: Ensure each significant refurbishment contract is undertaken, within a safe, healthy and environmentally compliant manner, according to the specification, in line with the agreed programme within budget and achieves the expected quality, so the client is totally satisfied, and the reputation of the firm is enhanced.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Examine and clarify each refurbishment contract, making sure all site issues are considered before and during the pre-start meeting so that the detailed planning can be undertaken.
- Plan the job carefully and thoroughly, making sure it is in line with the agreed programme, noting especially the site health and safety methods statement and risk assessment, including environmental compliance, so that every aspect of the job is considered, and all the relevant parties know what is expected and when they will be required.
- Organise, brief and co-ordinate the labour and sub-contractors and obtain the materials and plant and equipment so the job starts on time and continues to progress well in line with the programme.
- Ensure every aspect of the job is carried according to the specification, is within the set budget, meets the expected quality standards, minimises disruption and is completed on time, so the client is delighted.
- Constantly review progress against the programme, taking prompt and timely action to anticipate or solve problems, rescheduling as necessary, so that every aspect of the job is completed as per the specification, snagging is minimised and the job is completed on time.
- Brief all labour (and visitors) and then deploy, coordinate, and motivate and review them to undertake particular allocated tasks to the required standards in a manner, which compiles at all times with the site health, safety and environmental standards.
- Working with the Contract Manager (and other parties) seek to improve efficiency, minimise waste and get it right first time on each contract thereby finding ways to reduce costs while not compromising quality, Health, Safety or Environmental compliance, so such good practice can be shared with the rest of the wider contracts team.
- Complete all the required records and associated paperwork accurately and on time so that labour can be paid properly, purchases can be verified, sub-contractors paid and there is never any doubt about the specification having been met.
