Waites Recruitment Consultancy are working with a client based in Southampton who is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a groundwork and rc frame works background and knowledge. Fantastic opportunity for a full time role.

Location: Brighton / Worthing areas (Initially attending Head Office in Wickham, Southampton before transitioning to site)

Job Type: Full Time – Permanent

Start Date: April 2026

Salary: £45k- £75k dependent on experience

Role Overview

My client is seeking an experienced Groundworks & RC Frame Quantity Surveyor to join our growing commercial team. The successful candidate will initially be based in our Wickham, Southampton head office, before transitioning to a site-based role on projects in the Brighton and Worthing area, with visits to head office as required. Under the direction and guidance of the Managing Surveyor, the successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day responsibilities listed below.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitoring project costs and maintaining financial control throughout Project Delivery
  • Produce cost reports, forecasts and CVRs
  • Prepare and agree valuations
  • Subcontractor/ Labour procurement, negotiation, and management
  • Identify, collate, and manage variations. Ever vigilant of change control
  • Liaising with project teams, subcontractors, clients, and consultants
  • Assisting in Procurement and Tendering if required.
  • Working closely with the Managing Quantity Surveyor

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Quantity Surveyor with 4+ years post-qualification experience with ideally a Groundworks / RC Frame Contractor
  • Strong experience within Groundworks and RC frame packages
  • Ability to work independently and manage commercial responsibilities
  • Strong Communicator, highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software packages and Bluebeam.
  • Can independently measure / take off drawings/documents
  • Strong Contract Administration; Working Knowledge of JCT & NEC Contracts
  • Familiarity with systems such as Viewpoint, Aconex, Asite, Sharepoint, or similar document control platforms preferred but not essential
  • Full clean UK driving licence
