Waites Recruitment Consultancy are seeking a construction Estimator for a client on a full time basis based in South East London (Mottingham). Exceptional role for a company who offers career development and training to better yourself.

Do you want to work for one of the largest and longest established companies in the heritage sector, working with prestigious clients, restoring some of the most remarkable historic buildings across London and the South-East? We have an opportunity for an Estimator with main contractor experience, pricing for different trades to join our team. Previous experience in the stonework and restoration sector is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities of an Estimator include (but are not limited to):

  • Careful review of tender information provided to understand the full scope of works required
  • Issuing sub-tender packages with the correct package specific drawings, specification, and scope documents
  • Preparation of tender deliverable documents which will include liaising with other departments, contracts, design and technical
  • Undertake post tender negotiations where required
  • Site visits with clients and sub-contractors, obtaining and reviewing sub-contractor quotations, responding quickly to post-tender queries, and handing over secured projects to the delivery team

Communication skills and the ability to work under pressure and towards deadlines are essential. You should be able to work on multiple projects and be comfortable providing support where required.

Requirements:

  • Ability to commute/relocate: London, SE9 4EL: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
  • Education: Diploma of Higher Education (preferred)
  • Experience: Applicants should have Estimating: 4 years (preferred) from a main contractor background, have excellent numerical skills and a good knowledge of Outlook, Excel, Projects, Asta, Word, Adobe, Publisher etc.

  • Salary is negotiable depending on skills and experience
  • You will be entitled to 25 days holiday rising with length of service to a maximum of 30 days
  • You will be eligible to join our Employee Ownership Trust annual discretionary bonus (subject to length of employment)
  • You will join our staff cash health plan (contributions made for dental/opticians etc.)
  • Following a waiting period, you will join our company pension scheme (subject to scheme conditions)
