Due to an increase in roll we have an opportunity for a homeroom teacher teaching Year 7 and 8 students. This could be a part-time (0.7 FTE) or full time, permanent position commencing Term 1 2026 or earlier by negotiation. If full time, you will be expected to teach in other areas of the school.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a passion for empowering young people and preparing them for their future
  • Work collaboratively within the Y7 and 8 teaching team
  • Be expected to contribute to the wider life of the school

Waimate High School is a fantastic, community-orientated school in the heart of South Canterbury. We offer a caring and inclusive teaching and learning environment, as well as a range of opportunities for professional development. We are a Y7 to 13 school with approx 300 students.
