As a Midwifery Educator, you will play a vital role in shaping excellence within our maternity service. You will act as an expert clinical resource, providing teaching, coaching and evidence-informed guidance that supports safe, culturally responsive, and high-quality midwifery practice.
Your work will include:
- Delivering workplace-based clinical education
- Coordinating orientation for new staff
- Supporting midwifery students
- Helping colleagues grow their professional and clinical capability
In this role, you will collaborate closely with the District Chief Midwife, Māori Midwife Lead, Midwifery Clinical Coaches and the wider Senior Midwifery Leadership Team to drive improvements, embed best practice, and contribute to service development. You will champion both clinical and cultural responsiveness, fostering a supportive learning environment that strengthens confidence, reduces stress, and helps build a resilient and capable midwifery workforce.
