About the Role

Kaikōura Health are looking for a full-time Kaiāwhina (Health Care Assistant) to join our wonderful rural kapa (team). This is a great opportunity to tautoko (support) and give back to your community - please indicate in your cover letter which role(s) you are interested in.

This role varies from day to day depending on the requirements of Kaikōura Health, but ultimately you will be there to work in collaboration with the nursing teams to make sure that the facility is running smoothly and to its highest potential; in both Long Term Care and the Medical Acute area. This could mean performing a variety of tasks supporting the nursing team to provide manaaki and awhina to both residents and tūroro (patients) with personal cares and their activities of daily living. This includes:

  • Assistance with meals
  • Moving and handling
  • Cleaning and tidying the ward, stocking and supply ordering
