Regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, we focus on providing specialized advice, particularly in drafting Shariah-compliant Islamic Wills in the UK.

Job Brief:
We are seeking an experienced Qualified Solicitor with residential conveyancing experience to join our growing legal team. The role focuses on Buy-to-Let transactions financed through Shariah-compliant investing. The successful candidate will manage a caseload and collaborate with internal teams such as Operations, Investment, Shariah, and Finance to ensure smooth and compliant property acquisitions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of residential buy-to-let property transactions, including freehold and leasehold titles.
  • Act as the primary legal liaison between Wahed and the sellers.
  • Draft, review, and approve contracts, transfer deeds, and agreements.
  • Conduct due diligence, including reviewing titles, searches, and property documents.
  • Liaise with property search companies to acquire necessary searches.
  • Present findings before exchange in a report on Title to internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure all transactions comply with UK legal standards and Shariah financing requirements, including the prohibition of riba (interest).
  • Coordinate with HM Land Registry, local authorities, and other external parties as needed.
  • Support the business in maintaining legal accreditation and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage transaction timelines and keep all parties updated throughout the process.
  • Handle post-completion tasks such as SDLT filings and registration.

Job Requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitor with at least 10 years PQE in residential conveyancing.
  • Ability to interpret complex legal and financing documents and explain them clearly to non-legal stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in compliance-heavy transactions.
  • Experience working with SPVs or real estate investment platforms is preferred.
