Join Medacs Healthcare as a PIP Functional Assessor / Disability Assessor. Are you an NMC-registered Nurse or HCPC-registered Paramedic, Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist ready for a change from frontline clinical work, but keen to continue using your expertise? As a PIP Functional Assessor / Disability Assessor at Medacs Healthcare, you'll complete Personal Independence Payment (PIP) functional assessments to understand how health conditions affect everyday life. This is a non-hands-on clinical role centred on clinical reasoning, analysis and report writing. The hybrid working model combines home working with time at one of our assessment centres, offering predictable hours, long-term stability and a healthier work-life balance.
What you'll do:
- Conduct face-to-face and telephone PIP assessments in a professional and empathetic manner
- Analyse medical evidence and clinical information
- Produce accurate, detailed and evidence-based written reports
- Work to defined quality standards and clinical frameworks
- Engage positively with feedback and development opportunities
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative colleagues
- Attend the assessment centre as required
What we’re looking for:
Essential:
- Registered Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD), Physiotherapist, Paramedic or Occupational Therapist
- Active NMC or HCPC registration with no restrictions
- Minimum 1 year’s UK clinical experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Confident use of digital systems (35 WPM typing speed)
- Right to work in the UK (sponsorship not available)
Desirable:
- Experience in functional assessment or advisory roles
- Confidence in producing high-quality written clinical reports
