Location: Bedfordshire (MK40)

Job Tenure: Permanent

Salary: £48,000 + Regular Overtime & Call-Out Payment (including £200 per weekend + overtime hourly rate when called in)

Working Hours: Monday-Friday 3-Shift (6-2 / 2-10 / 10-6) + Weekend Call-Out Cover

Role & Responsibilities

  • Provide electrical & mechanical support & repairs for all production equipment & site services
  • Fixing production machinery, industrial processing equipment, conveyors, packaging machinery, automation & controls, PLC’s, SCADA Systems, robots, site services, facilities
  • Supporting the engineering shift managers with project work – new machine & production line installs
  • PPM’s, electrical & mechanical fault finding, problem solving, machine upgrades
  • PLC – electrical fault finding
  • Mechanical fabrication, fitting, machining & welding to make parts & repairs
  • Work as part of a weekend call-out / standby rota when needed (£200 additional payments)

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Must be a multi-skilled engineer (electrical & mechanical)
  • Apprenticeship trained or a time-served engineering with mechanical & electrical qualifications
  • At least 4 years+ experience previously working in FMCG or packaging manufacturing
  • Able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong electrical & mechanical fault finding & problem solving skills
  • PLC – electrical fault finding – Siemens
  • Experience of carrying out CI projects, new machine installations
  • Experienced in planning & scheduling PPM work
  • Must be happy covering a weekend call-out / standby cover when needed (additional payments)
  • Mechanical fabrication, fitting, welding & machining skills beneficial
