A well established and growing law firm is seeking an experienced Family Solicitor to join its specialist Family team in Plymouth. Following a period of significant expansion and with ambitious plans for further growth, this is an excellent opportunity to develop your career within a supportive, collaborative and client focused environment.
The Role
You’ll manage your own varied caseload from initial instruction through to conclusion, including:
- Divorce and separation matters
- Financial remedy work, including complex asset division
- Private law children matters and parental responsibility issues
- Cohabitation disputes and agreements
- Pre nuptial and post nuptial agreements
- Domestic abuse matters and protective injunctions
You’ll provide strategic, compassionate and outcome focused advice, balancing technical expertise with emotional intelligence. The role requires confidence in handling complex financial cases involving business interests, pensions and property portfolios. Experience representing clients at court hearings is essential, and strong negotiation skills and familiarity with ADR processes are highly valued.
Candidate Requirements
- 2+ years PQE in family law
- Experience in divorce, finances and private law children matters
- Strong advocacy skills and experience representing clients in court
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Confidence managing a busy and varied caseload independently
- A sensitive, empathetic and client centred approach
