Job Summary
We are recruiting a locum Consultant Cardiologist to support cardiology services, delivering consultant-led care across outpatient, inpatient and acute settings within an established multidisciplinary team. You will assess, diagnose and manage a broad range of cardiovascular conditions, supporting service continuity and high clinical standards. About You
You are a GMC-registered Consultant Cardiologist with UK experience, confident working autonomously, managing complex cardiac cases and delivering high-quality care as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver consultant-led cardiology care across outpatient, inpatient and acute settings
- Assess, diagnose and manage cardiovascular conditions in line with local and national guidelines
- Perform and interpret cardiology investigations within agreed competencies
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, coordinated patient care
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with GMC and organisational standards
Essential Skills and Experience
- Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
- Previous experience working as a Consultant Cardiologist within UK cardiology services
- Strong knowledge of clinical governance, patient safety and evidence-based practice
- Excellent communication and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently and adapt quickly in a locum environment
- UK right to work
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Subspecialty interest such as heart failure, cardiac imaging, interventional cardiology or electrophysiology
- Previous NHS locum experience
- Experience supporting service pressures or short-term service cover
