Job Summary

We are recruiting a locum Consultant Cardiologist to support cardiology services, delivering consultant-led care across outpatient, inpatient and acute settings within an established multidisciplinary team. You will assess, diagnose and manage a broad range of cardiovascular conditions, supporting service continuity and high clinical standards. About You

You are a GMC-registered Consultant Cardiologist with UK experience, confident working autonomously, managing complex cardiac cases and delivering high-quality care as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver consultant-led cardiology care across outpatient, inpatient and acute settings
  • Assess, diagnose and manage cardiovascular conditions in line with local and national guidelines
  • Perform and interpret cardiology investigations within agreed competencies
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, coordinated patient care
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with GMC and organisational standards

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
  • Previous experience working as a Consultant Cardiologist within UK cardiology services
  • Strong knowledge of clinical governance, patient safety and evidence-based practice
  • Excellent communication and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently and adapt quickly in a locum environment
  • UK right to work

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Subspecialty interest such as heart failure, cardiac imaging, interventional cardiology or electrophysiology
  • Previous NHS locum experience
  • Experience supporting service pressures or short-term service cover
