A well-established packaging machinery specialist is looking to add a Junior Field Service Engineer to its growing engineering team. Covering a regional customer base, you’ll be responsible for servicing, maintaining and installing a range of packaging equipment across multiple industries. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to get their foot in the door of a company offering technical variety, training and a family-friendly business with great values.

The Role

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance, servicing and breakdown repairs on packaging machinery
  • Install, commission and optimise equipment at customer sites
  • Fault find on mechanical, electrical and automation systems
  • Provide customer training and technical support following installations
  • Work on pallet wrappers, strapping machines, carton sealing machines and carton erecting machinery
  • Cover a regional territory with occasional overnight stays when required

The Candidate

  • Previous experience working on packaging machinery or similar automated equipment
  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical engineering background
  • Field service or maintenance engineering experience
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve machinery faults independently
  • willingness to travel and stay away when required
  • Full UK driving licence
