Location: Exeter (with flexible and hybrid working options)
Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: £45,000 – £70,000 (dependent on experience)
The Role
You’ll be responsible for managing a varied caseload of residential property matters, including:
- Freehold and leasehold transactions
- New builds and shared ownership
- Transfers and buy-to-let properties
- Remortgage, equity release, and auction sales/purchases
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and reports on title
- Conducting property searches, checking titles, and preparing client reports
- Liaising with clients, lenders, estate agents, surveyors, and other professionals
- Managing registrations, SDLT submissions, and file closure
- Ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and AML procedures
Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a qualified professional with:
- Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive (with practice rights), or Licensed Conveyancer qualification
- Strong technical and drafting skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Confidence in managing matters independently
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Motivation, organisation, and a proactive mindset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal IT systems
- Previous experience in a law firm environment supporting fee earners
