Director of Sales – Branded Hotel in Edinburgh
An exciting opportunity has opened for a commercially focused Director of Sales to join a well-established branded hotel in Edinburgh.
This is a key leadership role for a sales professional who thrives on building relationships, winning new business and driving performance across a busy hotel operation.
The successful candidate will take ownership of the hotel’s commercial sales strategy, with a particular focus on growing corporate, group and Meetings & Events (M&E) revenue.
Working closely with the General Manager and wider commercial team, you will be responsible for shaping the sales approach, strengthening key client partnerships and identifying new opportunities to increase market share.
This role will suit someone who enjoys being visible in the market, developing long‑term relationships and creating a strong sales culture within the hotel.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience within a branded hotel environment and a strong understanding of the M&E market, with the ability to convert opportunities, build a robust pipeline and deliver against revenue targets.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute the hotel’s sales strategy across corporate, groups, leisure and M&E segments.
- Develop new business opportunities while maintaining and growing existing client relationships.
- Take ownership of key accounts and build strong partnerships with corporate clients, agencies and local businesses.
- Drive M&E sales performance, maximising event space utilisation and revenue opportunities.
- Work closely with Revenue, Operations and F&B teams to ensure commercial opportunities are fully maximised.
- Analyse market trends, competitor activity and customer insights to identify areas for growth.
- Represent the hotel at client meetings, networking events and industry opportunities.
- Support and develop the sales team, creating a proactive and results‑driven environment.
Requirements
- Current or recent experience in a Director of Sales, Senior Sales Manager or similar role within a branded hotel.
- Strong background in Meetings & Events sales with a proven ability to secure and convert business.
- A confident networker with excellent relationship‑building and negotiation skills.
- Commercially minded, with a strong understanding of revenue generation and sales strategy.
- A proactive and hands‑on approach with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Passionate about hospitality and delivering outstanding experiences for clients and guests.
