A leading national Regulatory team is seeking an experienced Lawyer with a background in healthcare fitness to practise work to join its Cardiff office. The team is expanding following new client wins and increased volumes of work, offering an excellent opportunity to join a highly respected practice undertaking meaningful, public protection focused regulatory work. The team is recognised for its expertise in advising professional regulators across sectors including health and social care, accountancy and education.
You will be joining one of the largest and most established regulatory teams in the UK, working alongside solicitors, barristers, CILEX lawyers, paralegals and investigators.
The Role
You will undertake a varied and high quality caseload of regulatory investigations and litigation, contributing to complex and sensitive matters across the healthcare regulatory landscape. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing concerns raised and preparing detailed case plans
- Advising on risk and whether interim orders are required
- Overseeing or conducting investigations, including interviewing witnesses and drafting statements
- Preparing investigation reports and drafting allegations
- Keeping clients and registrants updated throughout the process
- Preparing cases for hearings and working collaboratively with advocates
- Conducting regulatory litigation, including appeals and High Court applications
- Providing wider regulatory advice and contributing to policy development
Full induction, training and ongoing support are provided.

This role is suited to a lawyer with:
- Professional regulatory experience gained within a healthcare fitness to practise setting (essential)
- Previous case management experience
- Strong technical expertise and analytical ability
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Strong client care skills and the ability to manage your own caseload
- High levels of self motivation and commitment to continuous development
