Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 depending on experience

Chadwick Nott is delighted to be working with a leading Welsh law firm in their search for an Employment Law Associate to join their highly respected Employment & Immigration team in Cardiff. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with one of the largest specialist teams in Wales, advising a diverse client base on complex and high-profile employment matters.

The Role

You’ll be joining a dynamic team that advises clients ranging from international PLCs and government bodies to charities and sports clubs. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing day-to-day employment law advice to employers and individuals
  • Representing clients in employment tribunal litigation, including complex and sensitive disputes
  • Supporting high-profile employment investigations as part of the firm’s Business Crime Investigations Unit
  • Advising on board-level disputes and whistleblowing claims
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships across sectors
  • Collaborating with colleagues across departments to deliver joined-up legal solutions
  • Contributing to the development of junior team members through mentorship and support
  • Travelling regularly to Cardiff and occasionally to London for client meetings and team collaboration

Candidate Requirements

This role is suited to a solicitor with:

  • Minimum 3 years PQE in employment law
  • Strong experience in contentious employment matters and tribunal litigation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Commercial awareness and technical competence
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • A collaborative mindset and confidence to work independently
  • Interest in mentoring and line management
  • Welsh language skills (written and verbal) are desirable
