The company is a growing structural steel fabrication firm that designs, manufactures, and installs bespoke steel buildings across commercial, agricultural, and industrial sectors. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of and develop an in-house design and detailing function.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Create detailed 3D models and general arrangement drawings for structural steel buildings.
- Produce fabrication drawings, schedules, and fully detailed steel connections and assemblies.
- Support structural design by assisting with calculations and preparing documentation for external engineer approval.
- Collaborate with architects and engineers while contributing to the development of internal design and detailing processes.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Proven experience detailing structural steel buildings, including portal frame structures.
- Strong capability in producing accurate, fabrication-ready drawings.
- Solid understanding of structural steel connections and detailing principles.
- Knowledge of secondary steel systems such as purlins and rails, with familiarity of UK structural design standards.
