Overview

Leading national firm seeks a solicitor to join their busy corporate department and deal with a broad range of corporate transactions including mergers and acquisitions, private equity, joint ventures and corporate governance.

Responsibilities

  • Working with colleagues locally and nationally for a wide range of clients including public and private UK and International companies and their owners
  • Dealing with mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt funding and general corporate structuring work
  • Mentoring junior members of the team whilst working closely with the Birmingham partner on strategic initiatives and thought leadership
  • Involvement in business development activities, building client relationships and helping to grow the practice

About you

  • 5 years’+ PQE in corporate law
  • You will have played a lead role in some transactions and acted as the principal assistant on other more complex ones
  • Solid foundation in mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance. A working knowledge of debt finance would also be useful
  • Beyond your technical skills, you will have strong client management skills and an interest in business development
  • You will also be a genuine team player, looking to support others and share ideas and opportunities for the benefit of the team as a whole
  • Sector experience in healthcare would be beneficial but not essential
