This is a full-time role based in Houlton, Rugby, with flexibility for hybrid working. The purpose of this role is to support the delivery of all financial procedures and activities whilst ensuring the business remains compliant with internal guidelines, company procedures, and external regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for core finance operations, including the sales ledger, purchase ledger, cashbook, and company car administration, ensuring all relevant financial controls are followed. The role also involves processing payroll accurately and on time in line with statutory requirements and internal policies.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the timely and accurate production of monthly management accounts
- Completing balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintaining the fixed asset register
- Assisting with cashflow forecasting
- Playing a key role in year-end procedures and supporting internal and external audits, liaising with auditors and tax advisers where required
- Producing periodic analysis reports, including KPIs, stock reports, and other management information to support decision-making
- Maintaining process documentation in line with ISO standards
- Driving continuous improvement across finance processes, including the use of SAP and other tools
- Collaborating with central business process teams to standardise processes
- Providing flexible support across the finance function, including covering for colleagues when required
The role contributes to the overall financial health of the organisation by ensuring financial systems are maintained accurately and efficiently, in line with internal frameworks, group accounting standards, and legal requirements. Strong communication skills are essential to manage stakeholder relationships, resolve complex queries, and contribute to a positive customer experience, including supporting effective cashflow management and achieving debtor day targets.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of Financial Statements and experience with managing Accruals
- Expertise in Finance and Accounting practices
- Proficient Analytical Skills to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational abilities, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel
- Professional qualifications (achieved or working towards) such as CIMA, ACCA are preferred
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is an advantage
