We’re looking for an Operations Training Manager to join us on our journey 🌱 ready to dive in and stir things up.
Purpose: To lead the operations training team to drive operational excellence by developing capability in both our front of house + back of house restaurant teams through regular learning, coaching interventions + visits. By raising capability we will ensure our restaurants can deliver operational excellence and a brilliant people experience.
Key Accountabilities:
- Analyse, review + listen to the wider business operational challenges in order to regularly review learning needs across the business and support in developing training solutions + tools that drive business results.
- Work with ops leadership and/or HQ departments to recommend and implement operational training improvements that increase speed, consistency, people experience and profitability.
- Partner with central ops to embed new ways of working into learning + development, ensuring managers and leaders are equipped with the right tools and frameworks to run restaurants brilliantly.
- Monitor + share where appropriate key operational metrics to stay in tune with trends and opportunities across the guest and people experience.
- Partner the central operations team and leadership by being the learning + development SME to create training plans for new projects, initiatives or transformational change.
- Partner with the learning + development and the people business partnering team to drive standards in our national centres of brilliance ensuring they are following best practice + role modelling operational excellence across Wagamama.
- Work in partnership with the wider learning + development team and Kaizen culture lead to ensure all operational facing learning tools, processes + materials across the business are fit for purpose, on brand + industry leading.
- Achieve the target metrics/KPI.
- Influence + partner the people team + wider business to provide learning material that delivers operational excellence for all our restaurants.
- Work with central ops to cascade and embed skills + behaviours.
- Provide the framework + coaching to NSOs + transformational refurbs to have a brand leading people experience.
- Guide leaders so new hires receive a brilliant new starter experience + are equipped with the knowledge, skills and behaviours to succeed in their new role and/or restaurant.
- Lead + develop the operational training team to ensure talent is engaged, capable and nurtured so there is a clear succession plan for the team to be able to nourish + flourish.
- Apply a lessons-learned approach to continuously improve how we land change, capturing insights and sharing best practice across the people team.
Requirements:
- An ability to work in true partnership through appropriate support, guidance, challenge, collaboration and co-creation.
- Team leadership skills | Can inspire, grow and develop their team as well as inspire their peers and colleagues to work in partnership with them.
- Basic project management skills.
- Agility + flexibility to adapt to new technologies, evolving guest expectations, and shifting business priorities.
- Root cause analysis and designing practical training solutions for operational challenges.
- Ability to build relationships + influence across all levels of the business.
- Analytical | Able to use data to inform ongoing operational training methodology + approach.
