We’re looking for an experienced food technical manager to lead the co-ordination and completion of activities in relation to food safety, quality, integrity, sustainability, allergen, and nutrition control. This role is a 12 month fixed term contract.
What you'll do:
- Supply chain food safety, quality, integrity, allergen, and nutritional compliance
- Supplier performance management
- Technical scorecard completion, review, and trending
- Driving supply chain complaints reduction
- Surveillance testing
- Facilitating the new menu launch process and managing sample requests for lab testing
- Assessing product specifications and raw material information to determine correct and accurate information
- Supplier and raw material non-compliances, incidents, and reports across the business
- Ensuring that the company meets its legal and ethical responsibilities
- Ensuring all food safety issues and complaints are resolved or escalated appropriately
- Liaising with other teams and giving accurate advice as required on matters of food safety, allergen compliance, and nutrition in relation to food and drink ingredients
- Providing accurate compliance reporting periodically to drive business improvement
- Preparation and review of allergen and nutritional guides
What you'll need:
- A degree qualification in food science and nutrition or related discipline
- Minimum five years in a technical management role in the industry
- Competence in supplier management, raw material management, and risk assessments
- HACCP level 3 minimum
- Sound knowledge and understanding of TACCP and VACCP
- Knowledge and understanding of food safety GFSI accreditation standards scheme
- Sound knowledge and understanding of allergen management and nutritional regulations
- Knowledge and understanding of the industry’s sustainability and welfare standards
- Experience of working with horizon scanning, FINN, and RASFF
- Restaurant operational awareness and knowledge would be beneficial
- Strong IT skills, specifically Excel and databases
- Ability to travel
- Strong organisational skills, planning, prioritising, self-motivating, and team player
