Our client is an established Construction organisation employing around 200 people and operating across multiple locations.

Working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.00am–4.00pm.

About the Job
This is a varied HR & Training Assistant position covering the full employee lifecycle, combining hands‑on HR administration and employee relations with responsibility for coordinating and delivering training.
Initially working alongside the existing HR & Training Assistant during a thorough handover period, you will then take greater ownership of the role during their maternity leave, reporting into the HR Manager.
- Provide day-to-day HR and administrative support across the organisation.
- Support managers with first-line employee relations matters, including disciplinaries, absence and performance.
- Coordinate onboarding and inductions for new starters.
- Deliver internal training and coordinate the wider training calendar.
- Maintain employee records, HR systems, timesheets and documentation.
- Support recruitment, including interview coordination and new starter administration.
- Advise employees and managers on HR policies and general queries.
- Keep HR policies and processes accurate and up to date.
- Support health & safety administration, including PPE requirements.
- Prepare HR correspondence and reports, maintaining confidentiality.
- Build strong relationships with employees and managers across multiple sites.
- Assist with wider HR projects and office activities as required.
- About the Successful Applicant
You will have around 3–4 years’ generalist HR experience and, importantly, previous experience delivering or facilitating training.
You’ll be confident supporting first-line employee relations matters, highly organised and comfortable in an administration-heavy role.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport are essential.
CIPD Level 3 would be advantageous, alongside a full UK driving licence for occasional site travel.
