About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Finance, this role is responsible for tax and treasury functions, ensuring the financial processes run smoothly. You will handle VAT compliance, banking, invoicing, financial reporting, and payroll support while also acting as cover for the Head of Finance when required.

Duties will include:

  • Managing VAT compliance, including preparing and submitting returns, reconciling payments, and liaising with external advisors.
  • Conducting daily bank reconciliations, processing invoices and expenses, and managing the purchase ledger.
  • Preparing budget reports, maintaining the fixed asset register, and assisting with year-end financial processes.
  • Supporting payroll administration, including liaising with pension providers.
  • Assisting with financial planning, statutory reporting, and cash flow forecasting.
  • Providing financial advice and guidance to internal teams.

About You

You will be a part-qualified accountant or qualified by experience, with a strong understanding of VAT and tax regulations. Experience in the education or the charity sector is desirable. You should be highly organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
