An expanding, global security business with headquarters in Buckinghamshire, are looking for a SAP BYD Systems Accountant to join team on a 6 month FTC basis. As part of a major systems transformation project, they are seeking an experienced SAP BYD Systems Accountant to support the financial systems function and ensure smooth operations within their ERP environment.
Role Overview:
The SAP BYD Systems Accountant will play a key role in managing, maintaining, and optimising SAP Business By Design (BYD) within the finance department. This role requires a strong understanding of financial processes and ERP systems to ensure data accuracy, process efficiency, and system improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the finance system expert for SAP BYD, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial data.
- Support the finance team in the day-to-day operation of SAP BYD, troubleshooting issues, and providing guidance.
- Assist with system configurations, updates, and enhancements to optimise financial workflows.
- Work closely with IT and finance teams to ensure SAP BYD aligns with business needs and compliance requirements.
- Develop and implement reporting solutions within SAP BYD to support financial analysis and decision-making.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial reporting and system processes.
- Assist with month-end and year-end financial reporting and reconciliations.
- Provide training and documentation to finance team members on SAP BYD best practices.
- Collaborate with external consultants and internal stakeholders to support system upgrades and improvements.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Systems Accountant with expertise in SAP Business ByDesign (BYD).
- Strong finance and accounting background (qualified or part-qualified accountant preferred – ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, and ERP system administration.
- Knowledge of financial processes, including P2P, O2C, and general ledger management.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve SAP BYD system issues effectively.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, global organisation within a finance function.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
