About the Job

This is a broad HR generalist role offered on a 3–6 month fixed-term basis. Working closely with managers and employees across the organisation, you will provide practical HR advice, manage employee relations matters and support the effective delivery of day-to-day people services. You will also contribute to wider people activity, including recruitment, onboarding, engagement, wellbeing, learning and organisational culture.

Duties will include:

  • Providing managers with clear and practical advice on day-to-day HR matters
  • Managing employee relations cases, including disciplinary procedures, grievances, performance concerns and absence
  • Supporting managers throughout recruitment and selection activities
  • Coordinating pre-employment checks and ensuring new employees receive a positive onboarding experience
  • Maintaining accurate employee information within the HR system
  • Producing management information relating to headcount, absence, employee turnover and recruitment
  • Ensuring HR records are handled accurately and in accordance with GDPR requirements
  • Assisting with the review, maintenance and communication of HR policies and the employee handbook
  • Supporting employee engagement, wellbeing and learning initiatives
  • Acting as a trusted point of contact for employees and managers across the organisation
  • Helping ensure people processes are applied fairly, consistently and in line with UK employment legislation
  • Supporting offboarding activities and other employee lifecycle processes

About the Successful Applicant

You will have at least five years’ HR generalist experience and hold CIPD Level 5 or above. You will possess strong knowledge of UK employment law, proven experience managing varied employee relations cases and confidence using HR systems and people data. Organised, self-motivated and approachable, you will communicate sensitively, build trusted relationships and work effectively without close supervision.
