About the Role
This is a hands-on interim position offering the opportunity to make an immediate difference. You'll provide leadership to the payroll team while reviewing existing processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and helping create a more efficient, well-structured payroll function. This role would suit someone who enjoys bringing order to busy environments, confidently leading teams and implementing positive change.
- Providing day-to-day leadership for the payroll team.
- Supporting the payroll function through a period of change and transition.
- Reviewing existing payroll processes and recommending improvements.
- Implementing more efficient procedures and best practice across the department.
- Working closely with HR and key stakeholders to ensure smooth payroll operations.
- Overseeing weekly payroll for approximately 2,700 employees and monthly payroll for around 500 office-based staff.
- Supporting the ongoing development and optimisation of the HRIS.
- Identifying areas of risk and ensuring payroll accuracy and compliance.
- Acting as the go-to payroll expert while helping shape the future structure of the team.

You will be an experienced payroll professional with strong leadership skills and a proven ability to improve payroll operations. Comfortable managing change, you'll enjoy reviewing processes, implementing improvements and supporting teams through periods of transition.
