About the Job

This is an excellent opportunity for a French Financial Accountant to take ownership of the finance function for the French business. Working closely with senior leadership, you will be responsible for financial reporting, statutory compliance, cash management and business performance analysis, while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the finance team.

Duties will include:

  • Managing the monthly, quarterly and annual financial close process in line with group reporting deadlines and local statutory requirements.
  • Producing accurate management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets and cash flow reporting.
  • Preparing detailed financial reports with variance analysis and meaningful commentary to support decision-making.
  • Maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, including journals, reconciliations, fixed assets and intercompany transactions.
  • Overseeing banking activities and ensuring appropriate controls are maintained across financial transactions.
  • Monitoring revenue recognition and supporting the accurate accounting of project-based and recurring income streams.
  • Preparing and reviewing VAT returns and ensuring adherence to French tax regulations.
  • Supporting the preparation of statutory financial statements and corporate tax submissions.
  • Ensuring compliance with French accounting standards, tax obligations and group reporting requirements.
  • Coordinating external audit activities and assisting with regulatory reporting obligations.
  • Providing oversight and guidance across accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, fixed assets and expense management processes.
  • Managing short and medium-term cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning.
  • Identifying opportunities to enhance financial processes, controls and reporting efficiency.
  • Acting as a key finance business partner to support operational and strategic decision-making.

About the Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will have significant accounting and financial control experience, ideally gained within a software or technology environment. You will possess strong knowledge of French GAAP, tax regulations and statutory reporting requirements, alongside experience within an international group structure. Fluent French and English communication skills are essential, as is a hands-on approach, strong analytical capability and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
