Job Description Finance Assistant Full-time, office-based | 8:30am–5:00pm Our client is an institution within the Education sector, offering a welcoming and collaborative environment where employees are encouraged to develop their skills and contribute to the wider success of the organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for a Finance Assistant to join a busy finance team and take ownership of day-to-day accounts payable activities while supporting broader financial operations. Working alongside senior members of the finance team, you will help maintain accurate records, effective controls and a responsive service for internal and external stakeholders. Completing supplier statement reconciliations and resolving discrepancies. Posting journals and other accounting adjustments when required. Reviewing and processing employee expense claims. Producing regular financial information for budget holders. Supporting month-end processes, reconciliations and general finance administration. Assisting with information required for management reporting and external audit activity. Responding professionally to finance queries from colleagues, suppliers and other stakeholders. Helping strengthen financial processes, procedures and controls across the organisation. You will have at least 12 months' experience within finance, accounts payable or purchase ledger, alongside strong reconciliation, administration and Excel skills. Experience with Xero, Dext or ApprovalMax would be advantageous, as would Education sector experience and an AAT qualification or current accounting studies. You will receive a salary of £30000-£32000 per annum, alongside 25 days' annual leave.
