About the Job
This is a broad, hands-on Finance Manager position with responsibility for the smooth day-to-day running of the finance function. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will take ownership of financial reporting and controls while overseeing transactional finance, payroll, banking and finance systems.
Duties will include:
- Producing monthly management accounts, financial analysis, forecasts and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Supporting the year-end accounts and audit process, including preparing schedules and liaising with external auditors.
- Managing cash flow, treasury activities, banking arrangements and electronic payments.
- Overseeing purchase and sales ledger activity, invoicing, credit control, expenses and company payment methods.
- Managing the relationship with the outsourced payroll provider and ensuring payroll and pension information is accurate and properly reconciled.
- Overseeing finance systems and identifying opportunities to streamline, automate and improve processes.
- Supporting finance system upgrades and enhancements while maintaining appropriate access controls and audit trails.
- Providing useful financial information to budget holders and other stakeholders across the organisation.
- Working alongside the COO on projects designed to strengthen financial processes, reporting and overall efficiency.
About the Successful Applicant
You will be part-qualified, fully qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), or qualified by experience (QBE), with strong Finance Manager-level experience and sound technical accounting knowledge. You will bring experience across management reporting, payroll oversight, banking and accounts receivable, alongside strong Excel and finance systems skills. Excellent communication, analytical and stakeholder-management capabilities are essential. Education, charity or not-for-profit experience would be advantageous.
