Are you an experienced HR officer, having already worked in a generalist HR role? Are you seeking a change and more autonomy? If so, then we have the role for you. Waddington Brown is supporting a successful and established Multi Academy Trust based in East Anglia on their appointment of an HR Officer to join the team. You will be the go-to person to support with all HR related questions and queries for your dedicated secondary school whilst having the support and guidance of a strong and fully established HR team. Reporting to an HR Business Partner and supported by an HR Administrator you will have the tools and support to thrive in your role.

Responsibilities of the HR Officer role include:

  • Partnering with senior management to understand key HR challenges, providing advice and support.
  • Working in partnership with the wider HR team to ensure robust resourcing and recruitment plans.
  • Leading and advising on recruitment and resourcing needs within your designated School, ensuring that all pre-employment checks are carried out.
  • Manage onboarding of new employees within your specific School.
  • Be the first point of contact for any employee relations issues providing advice and guidance on best practice.
  • Support the HR Business Partner with the development and delivery of training materials.
  • Undertake Trust wide projects to ensure collaboration.
  • Be willing to support other Schools in the Trust when workflow requires.

About you:

  • You will have established HR experience either as an HR Officer or Advisor including an understanding of employment law.
  • Ideally CIPD L3 qualified but support for training can be provided.
  • Able to work independently and make decisions.
  • Excellent relationship building skills.
  • High levels of integrity and personal standards.

It is expected that you will be based on site in Bassingbourn 2-3 days a week during term time with an additional site-based day spent with the HR team in Cambridge.
