A minimum of 22.5 hours per week (exclusive of breaks), Monday to Friday. Occasional work outside of your normal rota will be required, including weekend and evening work, for which time will be taken in lieu.
We are seeking an experienced Marketing Officer to join our dedicated team at Waddesdon Manor. The role of Marketing Officer focuses on marketing the House & Gardens, its art collections, exhibitions, learning programme and sustainability work. Supporting the Head of Marketing & Communications, the role helps deliver all marketing activity for these areas e.g. developing campaigns for forthcoming exhibitions, working with various internal teams and updating National Trust to maintain marketing through all available channels.
The working week would comprise of three full days in the office, based at Waddesdon Manor.
The Marketing Officer contributes to Waddesdon Manor’s overall marketing and online strategy to drive engagement and footfall to help meet annual visitor targets.
- Assist the Head of Marketing & Communications with core purpose marketing including National Trust, House & Gardens, exhibitions, art collection, tours, events, Learning programme and Sustainability
- Produce regular digital newsletters for distribution using the online database system
- Create campaigns and collateral for the core offer, events and exhibitions (digital and offline)
- Work with the Curatorial and Gardens team to help ensure activity is well planned, executed and delivered on time and to budget
- Monitor the outcomes of marketing activity, evaluate against plans and contribute to monthly reports
- Contribute to the social media campaigns and content, including planning, scheduling and producing content
- Work with the press officer and internal stakeholders for press days on a seasonal basis
- Champion the brand strategy and correct use of the visual identity
- Assist with filming and photography, editing and uploading images, maintaining the digital asset management system with up-to-date photography, ensuring correct captioning and credits
- Create and update content on the relevant websites as required
- Report on marketing budgets and assist with the forward planning in liaison with managers or Heads of Departments
- Work closely with the wider marketing team and internal colleagues, sharing news on activity, promotions and events to ensure that press and other opportunities for promotion are maximised
You are a creative individual, excellent at copy, who thinks in terms of engagement and online conversation as a way to extend Waddesdon’s reach. You’ll be familiar with traditional as well as digital marketing tools. An appreciation of the balance of cultural and commercial considerations in a cultural visitor attraction, and an ability to match messages, media channels and tone of voice to the needs of different audience segments is important.
The Marketing Officer is a strategic thinker, an excellent relationship-builder and communicator combining marketing drive, campaign creativity and thoroughness in delivery.

- Minimum 2 years’ experience delivering successful marketing campaigns to consumers preferably with Arts or Heritage experience
- Technical skills in web CMS editing (Wordpress) and NT online systems

- Ecommerce experience marketing events online
- Comprehensive knowledge of a CRM system such as Hubspot, digital asset management systems and Canva
