Bearward Engineering is a Northampton based firm manufacturing radiators for the power generation industry.

As a member of the Sheet Metal department team, working on the 1400-2200 shift (38 hours/week) Monday to Friday, you will be responsible for:

  • Punching products using CNC punch presses.
  • Maintaining upkeep of machines, setting of machines and tools.
  • Manually loading parts of machinery (using lifting/magnetic/suction equipment where necessary).
  • Breaking out punched parts of steel using appropriate equipment.
  • Checking quality of parts before/after process.
  • Palletising/moving product using pump/stacker trucks.
  • Manually loading/unloading parts onto/off the paint line, cleaning and fettling using manual grinders.

You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.

Knowledge/use of punch machines is desirable but not essential. You should have:

  • The ability to read drawings.
  • A positive can-do attitude and be a team player.
  • Practical, hands-on skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • A willingness to work flexibly.
  • Attention to good housekeeping.

The job involves a manual environment, lifting heavy equipment with magnetic hoists and chain/strap hoists.
