As part of the Plant Engineering/Maintenance team in Northampton, working on a weekly rotating shift pattern 0600-1400 / 1400-2200, you will have the opportunity to engineer solutions and maintain systems for our radiators production for the power generation industry.
How will you make a difference? As a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer, reporting to the Manager, Plant Engineering/Maintenance, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving all machinery used in the manufacturing process, periodically inspecting systems to ensure optimal functioning and troubleshooting problems.
Qualifications
- Fault finding skills and an understanding of schematics
- Ability to read engineering diagrams/drawings/schematics
- Recent experience of working with punch presses, ovens and ancillary machinery
- Recent experience of working with conveyors and automated production lines
- Recent experience in gearboxes, pumps, pneumatics and hydraulics
- Basic understanding of automation and electrics
- Understand and be able to work with switchgears, controllers, PLCs and CNC controlled circuits
- Ability to prioritise and plan effectively, while working under pressure and to tight deadlines
- An organised and self-motivated team player with a positive can-do attitude
- Ability to follow processes, especially health and safety/manual handling
- Willingness to work flexibly
- Practical, hands-on person
- Manufacturing background desirable but not essential
- Mechanically qualified (a minimum of City and Guilds technician level), time served indentured apprenticeship would be preferred – must be able to evidence these at interview
