Bearward Engineering is a Northampton based firm manufacturing radiators for the power generation industry.

As a member of the Assembly department team, working on the 1400-2200 shift (38 hours/week) Monday to Friday, you will be responsible for transporting finished product using Company van/reach FLT.

Role Purpose

  • To safely transport industrial radiators from the assembly line to the inspection building using forklift and/or company van.
  • Carry out a final visual and basic quality inspection to ensure only compliant products are passed forward to the inspection team.

Material Handling & Transport Responsibilities

  • Operate forklift trucks and company vehicles safely.
  • Transport finished radiators from assembly to inspection areas in line with production requirements.
  • Ensure loads are secure and handled without damage.
  • Follow site traffic routes, safety rules, and speed limits.
  • Load and unload radiators carefully.

Final Inspection Responsibilities

  • Carry out visual inspection of radiators before transfer.
  • Check for damage, missing parts, or quality concerns.
  • Verify completion of route cards and documentation.
  • Segregate non-conforming products.
  • Report defects to production or quality teams.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure only acceptable products are passed to inspection.
  • Maintain traceability through accurate documentation or scanning.
  • Follow all quality procedures and work instructions.

Health & Safety

  • Operate equipment in line with site safety procedures.
  • Carry out daily forklift and vehicle checks.
  • Maintain awareness of pedestrians and hazards.
  • Wear required PPE at all times.
  • Report incidents, near misses, or unsafe conditions.

Skills & Experience (Essential)

  • Valid forklift license.
  • Clean UK drivers license.
  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Basic understanding of visual inspection and defect identification.
  • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
