Bearward Engineering is a Northampton based firm manufacturing radiators for the power generation industry.
As a member of the Assembly department team, working on the 1400-2200 shift (38 hours/week) Monday to Friday, you will be responsible for transporting finished product using Company van/reach FLT.
Role Purpose
- To safely transport industrial radiators from the assembly line to the inspection building using forklift and/or company van.
- Carry out a final visual and basic quality inspection to ensure only compliant products are passed forward to the inspection team.
Material Handling & Transport Responsibilities
- Operate forklift trucks and company vehicles safely.
- Transport finished radiators from assembly to inspection areas in line with production requirements.
- Ensure loads are secure and handled without damage.
- Follow site traffic routes, safety rules, and speed limits.
- Load and unload radiators carefully.
Final Inspection Responsibilities
- Carry out visual inspection of radiators before transfer.
- Check for damage, missing parts, or quality concerns.
- Verify completion of route cards and documentation.
- Segregate non-conforming products.
- Report defects to production or quality teams.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure only acceptable products are passed to inspection.
- Maintain traceability through accurate documentation or scanning.
- Follow all quality procedures and work instructions.
Health & Safety
- Operate equipment in line with site safety procedures.
- Carry out daily forklift and vehicle checks.
- Maintain awareness of pedestrians and hazards.
- Wear required PPE at all times.
- Report incidents, near misses, or unsafe conditions.
Skills & Experience (Essential)
- Valid forklift license.
- Clean UK drivers license.
- Experience in manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Basic understanding of visual inspection and defect identification.
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
