Napier Turbocharger, a Wabtec Company, is looking for a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team. We design, manufacture, and test industrial turbochargers for the power generation, marine, and rail traction industries.
Role: Manufacturing Engineer
Salary: Competitive
Location: LN5 7FD, Lincoln
Hours: Monday to Thursday 07:30am to 15:45pm and Friday 07:30am to 15:15pm
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time
How will you make a difference?
- Knowledge of modern machining and manufacturing processes, NC programming, ideally from a low-volume, high accuracy manufacturing environment e.g., Aerospace, Power Generation.
- Lead and manage projects within Manufacturing taking responsibility for delivery, project planning, execution and cost.
- Creation and maintenance of supporting documentation to include Manufacturing Routings, Layouts and instructions.
- Define, perform and implement investigations into non-conformance through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Inspection activities including the creation of non-conformance reports, in process and final inspection protocols.
- Work cross functionally with different departments such as Design, Quality, Procurement and external suppliers.
- NC programming of multi-axis Turning, Milling, Grinding and EDM machines.
- Programming of CMMs using PC-DMIS.
Ideally you will be qualified to HNC level or above in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with having undergone relevant training as Manufacturing Technician/Engineer. Experience in a modern manufacturing facility with a good understanding of modern machining techniques, plus problem solving techniques. Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing techniques and processes. Computer/software literate.
