Napier Turbocharger, a Wabtec Company, has an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Director to join a well-established business that designs, manufactures, and tests industrial turbochargers supplied into the Power Generation, Marine, and Rail Traction industries.

As the Commercial Director of an industrial turbocharger business, you will play a crucial role in driving the company's sales and overall commercial strategy. You will be responsible for leading the sales team, developing business relationships and maximizing profitable revenue generation opportunities in the industrial turbocharger market. Your primary focus will be on achieving sales and margin targets, expanding market share and strengthening the company's position as a leading provider of turbocharger solutions in the industry.

What you will be doing…

  • Developing and executing the sales strategy to achieve ambitious growth targets and increase market penetration.
  • Leading, coaching, and motivating the sales team to maximise performance and deliver results.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key customers, OEMs, industry partners, and stakeholders.
  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, including expanding product offerings with existing customers.
  • Conducting market and competitor analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential threats.
  • Working closely with product development teams to align new solutions with customer and market demands.
  • Negotiating commercial agreements, pricing structures, and contracts to ensure profitable growth.
  • Managing sales budgets, forecasts, and financial performance while implementing effective pricing and cost-control strategies.
  • Representing the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to enhance brand presence and generate new business.

Are you an individual with the following?

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, or a related discipline required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Significant senior-level experience in sales, customer relationship management (CRM), or business development within the power generation and marine sectors.
  • Knowledge of the industrial turbocharger market, related technologies, customer requirements, and industry dynamics would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to develop, motivate, and inspire high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities with customers, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Proven strategic thinking and experience developing and executing commercial growth strategies.
  • Data-driven and analytical approach to market assessment and business decision-making.
  • Strong track record of achieving sales targets, delivering revenue growth, and driving business performance.
  • Financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and commercial performance management.
  • Flexible and willing to travel regularly to meet customers and attend industry events.
