We are seeking a Cyber Security, DevOps and UX Lead Engineer to join our IoT and Smart Data team. In this dynamic role, you will be the subject matter expert and technical lead responsible for the security posture, automation, and user experience of our IoT and Smart Data Platform. You will define strategies, implement best practices, and lead projects that enhance security, streamline DevOps processes, and deliver exceptional user experiences.

What will your typical day look like?

  • Define and implement security architecture for IoT Edge and Cloud components.
  • Ensure compliance with Wabtec Corporate CATO and industry standards (e.g., IEC 62443).
  • Develop threat detection systems, conduct audits, and manage risk frameworks.
  • Design and implement scalable CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
  • Drive automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Oversee monitoring and resilience strategies for high availability and disaster recovery.
  • Lead user-centred design efforts to ensure intuitive and accessible platform interfaces.
  • Implement UX best practices and design systems, conduct usability testing and continuous improvements.
  • Collaborate with architects, product managers, and engineering teams to align technical and business goals.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and drive innovation across Cyber Security, DevOps, and UX domains.

What do we want to know about you?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer and technical team leader.
  • Professional technical experience; familiarity with Agile methodology.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud services, CI/CD pipelines, and secure coding practices.
  • Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, GitLab, and security scanning tools.
  • Python, Shell, or Bash scripting skills.
