Who will you be working with?
Brecknell Willis (a Division of Wabtec UK Ltd) headquartered in Chard, Somerset, focuses on engineering, project management, and sales of electrification equipment for railways, specifically pantographs and contact shoes.
Location: Chard, Somerset, TA20 2BB
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 08:00am to 17:00pm, and Friday 08:00am to 12:30pm
Responsibilities
- Interpret customer specifications to support global project delivery
- Design technical solutions tailored to customer requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality outcomes
- Lead engineering activities including design and gateway reviews
- Approve key project documentation such as safety analyses and test reports
- Contribute to cost reduction and risk/opportunity assessments
- Ensure timely achievement of project milestones
- Provide regular updates to the Project Manager
- Support aftermarket services and UK engineering needs
- Lead technical resolution of warranty and customer claims
Qualifications
- Travel expectations: 3-5 trips per year
- Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Experience in the railway industry is desirable
- Proven design and project delivery experience
- Strong coordination skills across multi-site and cross-functional teams
- Ability to lead and implement high-impact engineering projects
- Excellent communication and matrix leadership skills
