We are seeking an experienced Quality System Manager to join our team at the LH Group (a Division of Wabtec UK Ltd) based in Barton-Under Needwood. We support our customers through maintenance and operation optimisation with customised solutions for spare parts, repair, and overhaul activities on existing trains.
Initially, you will work across 2 sites to integrate 2 QMS’s into 1, based in Doncaster and Barton-Under Needwood. This will require spending time at both sites, initially approx. 75% at our Doncaster site for up to 12 months. The role will then be based at our Barton Under Needwood site.
Your typical day will include:
- Leading the transition from 2 x site-based Quality Management Systems into 1 robust QMS at the lead site, ensuring ISO9001, RISAS, RISQS and Customer Certification is maintained.
- Acting as the key point of contact for all external audits, and ensuring all certifications and accreditations are maintained.
- Producing and managing a programme of internal audits (initially for both sites) to identify and rectify any areas of non-conformance against the QMS.
- Acting as the point of contact between product line managers and our external calibration companies.
- Developing Quality Department KPI’s to demonstrate QMS performance and help identify areas requiring further support or improvement to drive the adoption of best practices.
- Liaising closely with internal and external stakeholders to support resolution on product or process related concerns, with a mindset to continually improve both.
- Maintaining the Business Risk Register across both sites.
- Developing and producing quality project plans as required by our customers.
We want to know about you:
- Degree qualified in an Engineering or Quality Management related field.
- Experience in a Quality System management role ideally within the rail industry or other mechanical industry.
- Significant experience in developing/creating Quality Management Systems from planning stages through to successful implementation.
- Ideally would have experience in merging QMS’s successfully previously.
- Advantageous to have strong working knowledge of RISAS and other rail industry standards.
- Experience in attaining full certification in ISO9001 / IATF 16949.
