Who will you be working with?
We are seeking an experienced Production Planner to join our team at the LH Group (a Division of Wabtec UK Ltd) based in Burton on Trent we support our customers through maintenance and operation optimisation with customised solutions for spare parts, repair, and overhaul activities on existing trains.

Location: Burton on Trent, Staffordshire, (DE13 8EN) – (Onsite)
Hours: Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 16:30pm and Friday 08:00am to 13:00pm, 37 hours per week
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time
How will you make a difference?
You will initially be based across two sites in Doncaster for a minimum of 12 months. Upon the closure of the Doncaster site, your role will transfer to the LH Group site located in Barton-under-Needwood. As the Production Planner, you will be responsible for coordinating and optimising production schedules to ensure smooth and efficient operations—meeting customer demand while minimising costs and avoiding delays.
What will your typical day look like?
- Develop, manage, and optimise production schedules to meet customer requirements.
- Ensure materials, equipment, and workforce are available for production activities.
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to address delays or issues.
- Provide timely and accurate reporting to support the Planning Manager.
- Collaborate with procurement and inventory teams to maintain adequate stock levels.
- Communicate effectively with production, warehouse, and sales teams.
- Analyse production data and trends to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies between planned and actual production and implement corrective actions.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimise processes.
- Support new bids and Industrialisation process as required.

- Proven experience in production planning, preferably in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of production processes and supply chain management.
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Proficiency in production planning software and tools.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
